      1. I was baloo the bear in the Cubs for many years and remember most of the group as very young or not so young boys. Do you remember the hunt for kilts when you went to Switzerland? I am sure many of you have other tales to tell .

        1. Hello Sarah, I think I’d know you as Mrs Boyle (Ivan & Christopher’s mum), would that be correct?

Yes I do remember the hunt fir kilts back in 1982 and the same thing happened when I took 1st Bellshill Scouts back in 1992 and then 43 Lanarkshire Scouts in 1996.

Lots of good memories indeed. As a previous member there will be some activities throughout the celebration year (check-out) the events calendar for more details and if your OK with it we’ll remind you nearer the time.

Take care and hope to catch up soon.

        2. My mother passed away recently and I have inherited her photo collection which I am sure has lots of Pics from Kandersteg trip in 1981.

          1. Hello Jim, our sincere condolences on the loss of your mum.

The group would love to share any photos you have of the group. We can arrange to uplift, copy and return originals to you – please let us know if and when that would suit you.

Take care and send our warmest regards to your family.

  1. Looking forward to being a part of this big celebration, member of group 1977 to 1987, 1991 to 1994.
But in my heart always will be a 1st Bellshill & Mossend Scout 👍👍

    1. Spot on Paul. It’s going to be a blast, and for us old members it will be good to share memories with the current members and obviously catch-up with the “Oldies” from previous years 🙂

  2. Greetings!

Gosh, approaching 100 years and still going strong – well done, everyone, and wishing the group all the very best for the upcoming celebrations.

  3. Me and my brother attended the scouts when it was at sacred heart parish hall, I remember having loads of fun as well as learning outdoor skills, camping and competing in events absolutely loved it.

  4. My husband who is Tom Smith now 82 years was Scoutmaster in the 60’s when 1st Bellshill was held in the Scout Hall in the west end of Belldhill across from the West Church. Many years ago.

    1. Hello Anne, Fantastic to hear from you with information about your husbands involvement with the group. We would love to be able to talk with Tom and yourself about the group and its existence then. If you’d be up for that then let me know and I’ll be in touch. We would also be delighted if you and Tom could make it to some of the events over the coming months. Edward Devlin (former Skipper)
